A Russian Meat Fashion Show by Goodman Steak House

I was shocked when I saw the photos of a fashion show where models strutted the runway with outfits made from raw meat. The fashion show was organized by Goodman Steak House of Russia. During the show, models paraded a beef skirt, a filet mignon purse, a necklace of ribs and other meat clothes and accessories.










I suddenly remembered last year's episode of America's Next Top Model when models wore meat underwear.

What would PETA say about this gross event? Personally, I felt sad that some people chose to waste the life of those poor animals. Obviously, they are not contented with eating meat, they also want to wear them. Such a barbaric act! Any reactions?

Fashion designers

Fashion designers work to a fantasy of what the human body looks like. They are taught how to draw human figures in a distorted, idealised way.
The two figures in the middle are typical of fashion design drawings. Designs are based on these oddly proportioned, fantasy, body shapes.

The figures on either side were statistical averages from a series of anthropometrics studies done with US military personnel. Whilst limited to a select age range and profession, these nonetheless are based on measurable and observable reality. These are real body shapes. I always attach a sketch or photo AND fabric swatches to each worksheet. It makes the process so much easier. This worksheet gets utilized for both custom orders and assembly-line sewing.

Once I start “real” production (manufacturing) for the wholesale market this coming year, this worksheet will change as there will be things which will have to be done differently.

I am a haute couture designer and European stylist, I was taught by a designer at the age of 15 in a clothing manufacture in Montreal for a couple years, right now I am trying to sell these designs for the film and television industry or to designs for a well known company that required a fashion designer.

A collection that was inspired by the year 1969, Zeims looks back on the days with rose coloured glasses and explores life when the average income was six thousand dollars, a loaf of bread cost twenty cents and a ticket to the best concert sold for six dollars. “The forty piece collection is exploding with mind-altering prints, psychedelic tie-dyed colours and styles that are modern and perfectly suited to the Gold Coast Autumn” explained Zeims.“The fabrics used in the collection range from printed cottons to hand dyed chiffon to create the feeling of free spirit and a love for life.”
Individual items include cotton and chiffon dresses, wrap skirts and fringe vests.
