Shakira visited the belle of the ball event at NRJ Music Awards in Cannes. The Loca singer wore a glitzy little black dress and a pair of patent leather pumps and looked fantastic. Her stylish clutch and incredible jewelry.

I must admit the 33-year-old star looked stunning and her hair was mind-blowing.
The singer turned out to be one of the big winners at NRJ Music Awards ceremony in Cannes, she got awards for International Female Artist of the Year and International Song of the Year for her World Cup hit.

Lady Gaga Fashion

Meet Lady Gaga: the modern mix of Edie Sedgwick and Cyndi Lauper. She’s the modern Madonna, the newest wild, creating a fashion party craze that is taking the globe by glitter storm. Lady Gaga’s songs reflect a constant flow of urban thrills; the high life of booze, dancing, and parties. Shaking her platinum blonde locks and shining in sequins, her music videos alone provide a series of decadent sartorial indulgences. Singing about paparazzi, being overly drunk, money, and clothes, her songs spin off into their own “glamophonic” world, a life that drinks itself into a shiny, shimmering “disco heaven.”
Lady Gaga asserts that fashion is everything for her and this vividly comes across in her musical expression. But are we seeing a new age, an urban fashion icon? She is, indisputably, disco at its most contemporary. And most of her clothes are designed and made by the Gaga herself. She tells the Independent: “I designed these custom nude sequined panties with opalescent light blue rhinestones on them…I made this leather nude bra for my ‘Love Game’ video.” From Lady Gaga’s bubble dress to her extreme shoulder-padded blazers to her leather bikini and boot combos, this musician is showing the fashion clan a truly unique way of dressing. Lady Gaga herself says, “The way the world is…people are hungry for rejoicing and escaping.” This belief is demonstrated in her clothing designs and music, which, when fused together, provide not only the epitome of escapism but also a new disco-mania fashion trend.

Lady Gaga knows a good mask when she sees one. On the packaging for her “Poker Face; Remixes” album, Lady Gaga is seen wearing aKiki de Montparnasse original.
The masks are handcrafted in Venice Italy exclusively for Kiki de Montparnasse, a high-end designer of intimate apparel and accessories withflagship boutiques in Los Angeles and New York.

The masks are the perfect accessory to wear to spark ones imagination. The mask are formed in all various shapes to suit all different moods. Wearing one of these masks to an elegant Halloween party would certainly create a statement.
Traditionally, masks have been worn in Venice during the annual celebration of Carnival. They have also been used for the purpose of concealing a person’s true identity, and not so that you could egg the neighbor’s house or trick-or-treat for candy. Historically, masks were used by members of Venetian society enabling them to step outside the confines of their accepted roles, whether to perpetrate an illicit act, such as gambling, or something more personal like a clandestine romantic encounter.

Kiki de Montparnasse masks are made in the time-honored manner by the same craftsmen who created the pieces for Stanley Kubrick’s film, “Eyes Wide Shut” . The collection offers an exquisite range of masks, including classic demi-masks, full face styles with a modern elegance, simple lines and bold metallic finishes. There are also masks fringed in silk or topped with feathers and animal masks including butterflies, kittens and unicorns. The masks are finished with either a lustrous silk ribbon or a hand-carved wooden handle for classic masquerade appeal.

And what is an icon without followers? Worldwide, girls are imitating her trademark thunderbolt streak (down the forehead and across one eye), fingerless gloves, big black shades, long light blonde locks, and wacky, three-dimensional structured clothing. BlackBook Magazine recently featured Nicole Richie-dressed Gaga Style. There are even rumors of an upcoming Lady Gaga clothing line. It is looking like the newest artistic craze, one that fuses music and art, creating a fashion fad of nocturnal excess. In response to her style followers, she writes on her blog, “The fashion is spreading!!!!! I’m so happy.” It seems her lyrics ring true: “Fashion put it all on me, don’t you want to see these clothes on me.” Looks like the fashion world is welcoming Gaga in a booming, spandextastic, discofantastic kind of way. And remember, whatever it is you decide to wear, always, always “just dance.”

Spring 2011 Makeup Trend Preview from Pat McGrath

Can’t it just be spring already? *sigh* Since it can’t I figured we could go over a few makeup trends we can look forward to for spring.

Back in November I attended a Night of Beauty at
Robert Verdi‘s Luxe Lounge where legendary makeup artist and Covergirl Global Creative Design Director Pat McGrath herself spoke to a group of editors and bloggers about spring makeup trends. BTW, Pat is not only super sweet in person (I think I also spoke in a British accent for a week after meeting her), but she also designed a new line of Covergirl Queen Collection Lipsticks for women of color. It’s an awesome range of colors, ya know. You can see swatches of three of them here.
Anyway, onto the trends!
1. Red, Red, Red.
Gucci Spring 2011
While red lips are generally considered a fall/winter staple (I wear mine year round), they will be major this spring, says McGrath.
Need tips on picking out your red? Check out this post.
2. Minimal Makeup and Strong Brows.
Versace Spring 2011
Sure minimal makeup was done before in the 90s, but this spring’s minimal has been updated. How? McGrath says back then it was literally minimal—bare skin and very, very little makeup. But for Spring 2011 we’re seeing polished skin along with the strong brow. The brows were created using two brow pencils to feather them in and Pat added “a touch of silver” to the skin to get it to really glisten.
3. Bright Shadows and Full-on Maximal Makeup.
Christian Dior Spring 2011
As a total opposite of the minimal makeup, here we have full makeup. Bright shadows and bold lips that we’re normally told to wear separate are being joined together. The look Pat created at Christian Dior was full on matte, bright colored lids. As she explained to us the look is absolutely beautiful with loads of mascara (or even false lashes).
Well, I’m on board. How about you? Will you be trying any of these trends?

Kim Kardashian's Beauty/Make-Up Secrets

Kim Kardashian's make up allways looks flawless during events and in her show 'Keeping up with the Kardashian's'. How does she do it? Kim was kind enough to let us in on her secrets and posted her make up tricks on her blog. Find out below what products Kim uses for her flawless look!
#1 I always start with a clean face. Then I put on Intuit ‘Photo Shoot.’ Intuit is a great company and I love the names of their products. Photo Shoot is a make up primer. I put it on after my moisturizer, which basically is like a moisturizer that will fill the pours on your face which will help set the foundation so it will last longer.
#2 I use Cle De Peau concealer stick (it’s super expensive, but works for me). It comes in two colors, I use Ocre, which is the darker of the two. I also use M.A.C. concealer (which comes in a little pot) if I run out of Cle de Peau. Everyone’s color is different but I use NW25. I put the concealer under my eyes because I absolutely hate dark circles! I also use concealer to cover up blemishes!
#3 After I put the concealer on I put on Make Up Forever liquid foundation. I mix one pump of No. 5 and two pumps of No. 4. I also have No. 3 for the winter time when I am really pale. I mix the foundations to get the perfect color. I blend them with the coolest make up brush. Its the M.A.C. brush No. 180.
#4 Since I hate dark circles, after the foundation, I put on a little more concealer just under my eyes since the foundation makes it darker under my eyes. I use a lighter concealer from M.A.C. NW30 in a little lipstick tube-looking container and I select ‘moisture cover.’
#5 To set the foundation I lightly brush on with a big powder brush M.A.C. Select Sheer Pressed Powder NC 30, then to make me a little tanner I lightly brush on M.A.C. Powder NW 45.
#6 Now its blush time! I’m obsessed with blush! I use a color called Gingerly to warm me up and give me a little color and then add a pink color called Cheek to give me rosy cheeks. I just started getting into cream blush and find it works a lot better and lasts a lost longer.

#7 Time for the eyes! My favorite part! I first put down a M.A.C. Paint pot in a light color that matches my skin called Painterly. I just use my finder and put enough onto cover the lid. This creamy shadow makes it so that the powder eye shadow does not crease. Like, if you wear make up all day you will see that the eye shadow begins to crease and get oily, but if you put this paint color down first it won’t! I love cream shadow and use the color cream pots too! I love colored shadow; so it depends on the color depend of shadow I plan to wear: If it’s black smoky I use Carbon by M.A.C.; if its Grey smoky I use Knight Divine or Print; if it’s brown smoky I use Embark by M.A.C. I love a fresh shimmery look as well and use M.A.C. Pigment called Tan. Its so pretty! I love bright colors for eye make up! I absolutely love Make Up Forever and don’t think anyone does pigment colors better than them. So again, depending on what color you feel like wearing, go look at Make Up Forever’s colors to choose from.
#8 I always use black pencil eyeliner. My favorite is Stila black pencil.
#9 Now its mascara time! Putting on mascara completes the look, but I have it when I mess up and get it on my eye lid and mess up the eye shadow. I used to use Lancome Hypnose, and still do, but I recently started to use M.A.C. Zoom mascara — which is amazing! I take my time and put coat after coat. I love to layer mascaras so I will probably start with the M.A.C. Zoom and then put Lancome Hypnose on top. I always use a separator brush to separate my lashes. I am completely clueless on how to put false lashes on, so I only wear them for photo shoots sometimes.
#10 The final touch is putting on lipstick! I usually use M.A.C. Lipliner called Stripdown (I use it very lightly) and a lipstick called Angel and put Nars Turkish Delight lipgloss on top. Or for my very nude matte lip I wear Nars Belle De Jour and I line my lips first with M.A.C. Subculture lipliner.

Get the Nail Look: Beyonce's Nailpolish on "Why don't You Love Me"

Beyonce created a true beauty buzz with her latest music video "Why Don't You Love Me". What nailpolish is Beyonce wearing?

This beautiful green shade has been creating quite a buzz among celebs for a while. This subtle jade color is classy and adds a subtle touch of color to every trendy outfit. Although the original nailpolish is from Chanel (Chanel Nouvelle Vague Nail Polish) I have the perfect alternative for you ;-)

Herome recently launched the 'World Inspired Colours' line with each color carrying the name of a city. The color 'New Delhi' has the exact same green shade as the one that Beyonce is wearing in her music video and the many celebs who have been spotted with this catchy nail colour. Herome stands for quality and as a true nailpolish junkie I can tell you that Herome, Koh, OPI and Models Own nailpolishes so far have been the only brands who last at least for a week on my nails!
